I-bus
Sustainable mobility in the port
The I-BUS, or Industrial Bus, is a safe, comfortable and free shuttle service that transports employees in the port of Antwerp to and from work. Bayer (Monsanto), Covestro, Evonik, INEOS, INOVYN, and LANXESS employees can use this service. Interim employees, job students and contractors from these participating companies are also welcome to easily get to site with the I-BUS.
Lemon has developed a web and mobile application that allows employees to easily indicate which bus they want to take, track the arrival of their bus via track and trace and register digitally. Through the management platform that Lemon has built, HR colleagues from the participating companies can manage which employees can use the system, monitor usage and send push notifications.

During an analysis process, we investigated which functionalities were necessary for the solution. This took into account the requirements of all parties that would use the solution. Our designers used their expertise to make the user flow in the app as simple and intuitive as possible. Meanwhile, our developers worked closely together to app and it management platform and the website to develop. They ensured that all components are high-performance, robust, future-proof and scalable, with a consistent user experience across the entire digital environment.

Track & Trace and route optimization
Drivers receive a tablet with optimized routes and real-time information, such as traffic updates and expected arrival times. The tablet gives drivers clear instructions about their shift, including stopping points. As a result, drivers have all the necessary information immediately available. Thanks to the track & trace function, both passengers and HR staff can monitor the progress of the trips.

Planning and shift management
The system offers planning options that allow trips, drivers and vehicles to be optimally organized. Work schedules for drivers, including vacation or sick leave management, can be easily managed in the system. The system sends notifications about scheduled working hours or schedule changes, so that drivers are always well informed.

Push Notifications
Via push notifications or email, customers, drivers and employees can be immediately informed about important issues, such as route changes, delays or upcoming trips. This promotes real-time communication and contributes to higher customer satisfaction.
Sign in to the bus with a QR code
Customers receive a unique QR code that they can scan when they board the bus. This ensures a quick and easy registration of their trip, without them having to physically show their ticket or identity. The QR code makes it possible for customers to log in immediately and track their travel status. In addition, this system offers customers an easy way to provide feedback about their travel experience.

The i-Bus solution has significantly improved the commuting experience for employees. Employees can easily choose the right bus, track the trip via track & trace and register digitally. Drivers benefit from optimized routes and real-time information, making the service more reliable. The planning system for trips and work schedules makes the deployment of drivers more efficient, while push notifications provide quick communication about route changes and delays.
